The In’s and Out of Juicing

What is Juicing? Here’s a simple answer for you, it simply means extracting the juicing from fruits and veggies.

Juicing is a good way to get vitamins and minerals into one’s system especially for those who don’t eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, one downfall with juicing is that you do lose the fiber benefits that our fruits and vegetables have to offer.

Something neat about juicing is that you will have some pulp leftover, but what to do with it? You can use the pulp in cooking recipes like making a broth or teas or adding the pulp to a batter-like for muffins, cookies, or cakes.

I know to some people a juicing cleanse may sound appealing, just remember that with juicing you are missing out on the fiber which helps us feel full, which means that juicing may leave you feeling unsatisfied and still hungry, I want to also make you aware that if your purpose for doing a juice cleanse is to lose weight and you are successful you could still end up gaining back whatever weight you did lose. The only way to successfully manage weight is through nutrition and physical activity which is being mindful of what and how you are eating and learning how your body likes to get moving: yoga, running, pilates, or taking a kickboxing class.

A good way to juice would be to include one to two glasses of fresh juice to your daily life along with still eating healthy which still include actually eating fruits and veggies or you could juice in place of one meal like breakfast or lunch with the pulp included.

Before trying, research as much as possible there are plenty of articles and videos out there on juicing if your thinking of going on a juice cleanse or simply just wanting to incorporate fresh juices into your lifestyle, before starting your juicing cleanse check with your doctor first.

How I plan on incorporating juicing into my lifestyle is by using it to compliment my plant-based diet, some days I’ll have a glass for breakfast, and on other days I may just have a glass along with a meal.
